Terms of Use
1. The service
Onward Korean provides Korean lessons (Basic and Business tracks), situation phrases, exam practice for TOPIK and EPS-TOPIK, device-generated audio and spaced review. The current release is free. Features, content and availability may change, and we may discontinue the beta with notice inside the app.
2. Accounts
An account is optional. If you create one, keep your Google (or Apple) account secure; you are responsible for activity under your sign-in. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account and reset. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
3. Learning content
The app is an educational aid. It does not guarantee fluency, employment, visa outcomes, TOPIK or EPS-TOPIK results, or any specific learning outcome. Exam practice sets are original material written for this app and are not official exam papers. Text-to-speech quality varies by device, operating system and installed voice.
4. Acceptable use
Use the app lawfully. Do not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, scrape, extract or redistribute lesson content, or use the service to violate another person's rights.
5. Ownership and third-party software
Lesson text, audio scripts, exercises and artwork are owned by or licensed to Onward Korean. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use them inside the app. The app includes open-source software and fonts under their own licences (including Pretendard and Montage UI); the full notice is in the app's third-party notices.
6. Availability, warranty and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim (currently zero). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer-protection law where you live.
7. Future paid features
If a paid plan is introduced, its price, billing period, trial and cancellation terms will be shown before purchase and handled through the App Store or Google Play. Existing free content will not be removed retroactively from a version you already installed without notice.
8. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.
9. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without limiting your mandatory consumer rights elsewhere. We may update these terms; material changes are announced in the app and the effective date above is updated.
